Welcome to "MPBA
The
Miniature Pinscher Breeders Association began as a brainchild of
a couple of AKC Miniature Pinscher breeders who became
interested in exhibiting at United Kennel Club (UKC) events. The
club officially began organizing in March of 2007 and is working
towards becoming the parent breed club for the United Kennel
Club. However, since we are a new organization with UKC, we are
considered a 'regional' club and our primary purpose is to be a
cohesive entity for those who show their Min Pins in
conformation events. Please join us and help the club grow!
Our group is dedicated to the Miniature
Pinscher breed. We are far more than a breeder's club - we
are here for the love of the breed, for the first time owner to
the old timer. We believe that knowledge shared only enhances
us as individuals and as keepers of the breed. We encourage
breeding with care and with a purpose, going above and beyond
breeding just to sell pets.
We encourage our members to exhibit their Min Pins in conformation events, ensuring the consistency of the breed by judging breeding stock for proper breed-type. We encourage our members to health test their dogs for ailments that most commonly occur in our breed. Creating a club of breeders who are breeding healthy Min Pins that conform to the written standard is our goal.
If you are concerned
about the future of the Miniature Pinscher, we would love to
have you join us. Please visit our [Membership Info] page (link
to the left) for more information on joining our club.
The UKC Miniature Pinscher breed standard is similar to the AKC breed standard except for one specific difference. The founding members of MPBA worked together diligently and have crafted the UKC breed standard so that the dilute Miniature Pinscher can also be exhibited!! Blue and Rust Min Pins were added into the UKC MinPin standard for conformation competition as of 05/01/2007; and the Fawn and Rust color was accepted a year later on 05/01/2008. Our members proudly announce many blue/rust champions (several with legs towards the grand champion title and one with a Reserve Best in Show award) and one fawn/isabella champion!!
